Goodwill Goes GLAM! Returns: A Spectacular Fusion of Fashion and Philanthropy

Get ready for the fashion event of the year! Goodwill Goes GLAM! presented by the Bank of Hawaii Foundation is back for its 13th sensational year. This year, the spotlight shines even brighter as celebrity stylist and founder of PANCI Style LLC, Crystal Pancipanci, steps in as the creative director and producer of the show. Known for her innovative fashion sense, PANCI will curate a breathtaking thrifted trend show featuring vintage treasures, upcycled masterpieces, and chic designer-inspired looks with a unique twist.

Panci says, “Since starting my career in fashion in 2008, I've always called Hawaii "THE BIG PINEAPPLE," a unique melting pot of beauty, fashion, art, culture, lifestyle, and people in the middle of the Pacific. I always believed there was a unique space and growing fashion industry in Hawaii. I still remember doing the very first Goodwill Goes Glam fashion show 13 years ago, and it's an honor to do it again this year.”

After the runway show, dive into the GLAM! Sale pop-up, where you can shop the stunning runway looks and discover the best in secondhand fashion, including name-brand gems and one-of-a-kind finds.

“My approach to curating the looks for this fashion show is consistent with how I've styled and produced fashion trend shows and editorials in the past. I start by identifying current fashion trends, understanding the audience, and creating mood boards that tell a story. Thrifting at Goodwill for the last six months was the ultimate stylist challenge! I wanted to reimagine and "RE-WERK" this year's show into a colorful fashion trend showcase, curated and 100% donated, thrifted but "PANCI-fied" with a touch of Goodwill Glam. My goal is to help others see new ways to approach fashion and their personal style.” said Panci.

This annual celebration of sustainable fashion kicks off on July 18th at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. More than just a fashion event, it raises essential funds to support free employment and education programs for tens of thousands of Hawaii residents each year.

“The theme "Re-WERK" was chosen because it’s about making magic with the options you have or can find. This embodies the essence of my work as a fashion stylist. Whether orchestrating a fashion show, collaborating with a brand, or styling a campaign, my goal is to empower, elevate, and inspire one makeover and look at a time. In fashion, "rework" means transforming existing items into something new and fabulous. This sustainable approach reduces waste and gives new life to garments. Techniques like styling, deconstruction, embellishment, resizing, and combining pieces create a fresh, unique perspective.” Panci told VitaVerse reporters.

This triple collaboration between celebrity stylist Crystal Pancipanci, Goodwill, and the Bank of Hawaii Foundation embodies the spirit of aloha. Mainland brands partnering with local Hawaiian companies to make a significant impact through genuine community engagement.

When we asked Panci why this year's show was special she said, "This year’s show is a testament to sustainable fashion, with every look thrifted. I love a good hunt, and we're highlighting the trend of upcycling with vintage treasures, reimagined pieces, and chic, designer-inspired outfits that have been "Re-WERKED." There are so many GOOD THINGS to find and shop at this event! There is truly something for everyone. This year’s Goodwill Goes GLAM! is more than a fashion show; it’s a statement about the future of fashion. It’s about embracing the past, reimagining it, and being inspired to create and be excited about what you find. I can’t wait for everyone to see how we've Re-WERKED these thrifted pieces into something spectacular, representing Hawaii and for the community to enjoy."

The mastermind behind it all, Crystal Pancipanci, founder, CEO, creative director, and principal stylist of PANCI Style, has always dreamed of creating a platform to inspire, empower, and help people live their best lives. PANCI Style, a lifestyle and fashion production consulting company, is dedicated to beauty, fashion, and style.

"Thrifting and vintage shopping have skyrocketed in popularity and dominate the fashion scene in 2024. Thrifted fashion is the biggest trend! Ask any Gen Z fashionista. My mission at PANCI Style is GLAM for Good. I believe in collaboration, and the core of my work as a stylist is about bringing together brands, designers, artists, photographers, and visionaries to create magic together. Working with Goodwill Hawaii on this show is so special. Making fashion fun, creative, and affordable will make people feel good, and knowing that the proceeds from this event get reinvested back into the community to support Goodwill’s job training and employment programs, helping locals in need." said Panci.

Known in the industry as PANCI, Crystal is a self-made entrepreneur renowned for crafting progressive, signature looks for Hawaii's A-listers, influencers, brands, and fashion houses. As an image architect, PANCI has become the go-to style and beauty expert in Hawaii, celebrated for curating fashion profiles and transforming leaders, artists, and brands in a process fondly referred to as being “Pancified.”
